Canyon wall will be leR in-place at the south edge of both the East Side and West side extraction areas. Only the 170-foot wide throat of the pre-quarry area will connect the excavated quarry area through the south wall of the mesa slope (for all three bench elevation excavations). The first bench will be completed in a similaz manner on the West Side of the old quarry until the west and north boundaries are reached, utilizing the worked-out East Side quarry floor for processing and stockpiling. When extraction of the first bench for the West Side is completed, then extraction of the SECOrm BENCH will be started in the area of the previous quarry at the south edge of the mesa and it shall be completely extracted in a similar manner. rot It is estimated that the North Extension and the East Side Filtsr BENCH will be completely extracted within the first four years of operation (Yr-2006-'09), depending upon the market demand for road and other construction gravel, and rip rap. That accounts for a surface area about 9 acres of the NORTH QUARRY extraction area. The remaining West Side of the FIRST BENCH is expected to take from four to five more years to completely extract. After that, if the Earth has not begun another Glacial Period by that time, the Second Bench extractions will commence, followed by the third bench in a similaz manner.
