~~ ~ o -- o <br />III ~I~~IDflI~00fl~~I0l <br />Implementation and Timetable <br />Land reclamation work at the Vollmer Pit will begin during <br />the third year of operations as shown on the mining plan. Dur- <br />ing the first year, work will be focused on the initiation of <br />mining operations and no reclamation work is foreseen. In <br />subsequent years, land reclamation will keen pace with mining <br />and each phase will be reclaimed after it is mined. Final <br />reclamation of the site is expected to be completed as of <br />the spring of 2003. <br />Implementation of the reclamation plan is discussed below <br />in paragraphs keyed to the corresponding sections of Rule 6 <br />of the Mined Land Reclamation Board's Rules and Regulations <br />of 1978. <br />5~ <br />6.1 Grading <br />a. Grading will be carried out to create the desired <br />topography and to assure maximum safe, practicable use <br />of the resultant landscape. As in previously reclaimed <br />areas of the pit, no slopes will be left steeper than <br />~ f~f~~ roughly 5:1, except for those occurring naturally along <br />SUhs <br />the western margins of the operation.
