Dec. 09 1994 12:50PM P08 <br />-5- <br />Evidence of previous activity in the area consists of <br />remnants o~f a coal transport mechanlam on the hillside to the <br />south, coal refuse on the site and irrigation ditches (dry) which <br />cross ttie site. The extrertie loner part of the site ie fallow <br />agricultural land and the lower central part of the sift is grac- <br />ing land. Vegetation on the upper (natural) part of the site <br />consists of moderately thick to thick sagebrush with some weede <br />and grass. Somo large boulders to about 6 feot size are aoat- <br />tcred across the site. <br />At the timo of our field work, an access road had been cut to <br />L•ho proposed western wino portal CNo. 2). The road was mainly <br />cut. The cuts were very steep and exposed ttie alluvial fan <br />deposits consisting of clays, sands and gravels with cobbles and <br />boulders. The eastern enci of the road cut exposed white limey <br />sandstone. No indications of massive slope movement or seepage <br />were ohserved in the cut faces. <br />After our field work at the site and before issuanaa of this <br />report, grading of the site to achieve the planned grades as <br />shown on Fig. t had hegun. <br />CEOLOOIC CONDITIONS <br />Ttre geologic conditions of the area were described in our <br />previous report.
