<br />Exhibit H-Wildlife Information: <br />10. " ...water drawdown affects wetlands, cottonwood trees and other riparian vegetation that <br />provides healthy habitat for wildlife. I will be "affected when trees die and wildlife moves <br />elsewhere." ...loss of wildlife habitat as could happen as the vegetation dies back from lack of <br />water." (Landers, Van Norstrand; June 14, 2001) <br />DMG Response -The applicant will implement a water monitoring program using a number of <br />peizometers or water wells to determine if and when potential impacts to groundwater in the <br />surrounding area are occuring due to dewatering. Also, the applicant will implement an <br />"irrigation plan" to recharge the water table and ensure that adjacent wetlands and woody <br />vegetation will not be adversely affected during dewatering and dry mining. <br />Issues Raised During the Initial Public Comment Period That The Division Believes <br />Are Not Within The Jurisdiction Of The Division Or Board <br />11. "... effects of ground water on the riparian area and specifically the cottonwood forest. This <br />is important for environmental reasons but also because the applicant's only visual and noise <br />screening is with the mature cottonwood trees." "Mental anguish over approval based on untruths. If this application is approved by the <br />DMG Board, based on the same wrong information, we will again suffer mental anguish."
