Sheep-tight <br />fences could be installed where necessary. Farm land would <br />also be protected, <br />The reclamation plan, as set forth, provides for the return <br />of the affected lands to a use compatible with the surrcund- <br />ing area and former land use, the reclamation plan would <br />seek to eliminate water and air pollution and soil erosion <br />and maintain the affected lands in an aesthetically pleasing <br />manner, compatible with the surrounding area. <br />The Colorado Division of Wildlife and BLM, along with <br />personnel from Energy Fuels Corporation, have been worki.-,g <br />on a plan to reclaim part of the adjacent lands as elk <br />habitat. Several shrubs have already been transplanted and <br />plans are to transplant many more shrubs and trees. The <br />proposed area could be incorporated into this habitat. The <br />area is critical winter range. By planting selected species <br />of grasses and browse, numbers and diversity of wildlife in <br />the area could be increased. Plans are to transplant sk:rubs <br />and trees, when dormant, from areas to be mined. All <br />grasses selected for planting are not native, but are all <br />good feed fer wildlife and very adaptable to this area. As <br />native species beccme availatle, they would be substituted <br />for non-native species. The area could be left as rough as <br />19 <br />
