(3) The Operator/Applicant shall provide an estimate of the project water requireme»ts
including flow rates and annual volumes for the development, mining and reclamation
phases of the project.
Once operational planning is complete, this section can be completed using unit
evaporation calculations, wash plant diversion requirements, retainage losses, etc. from
the Love Pit operation.
(4) The Operator/Applicant shall indicate the projected amount from each of the sources of
water to supply the project water requirements for the mining operation and reclamation.
Excavated mining pits will be located within the alluvium of the Blue River. As such, the
evaporative losses that will occur will reduce flows within the Blue River. Additional
operationlreclamationuses ofwater will be diverted from the exposed water surface
within the pits. These operation/reclamation water requirements will be supplied (or
replaced) by Applicant-owned water rights as outlined in the attached Table 1. These
rights have been historically used to irrigate more than 350 acres of pastureland on the
former Maryland Creek Ranch. The dry-up of these formerly irrigated acres will
sufficiently cover the anticipatellosses that will result from the proposed aggregate
mining operation for the historic irrigation season of May through September. Excess
consumptive use credits from this dry up may be stored in on-site augmentation ponds for
release during out-of-priority depletions to the Blue River.
The Applicant also has a 25-year contract with Green Mountain Reservoir, as well as
storage rights within Dillon Reservoir. These rights were obtained for augmentation
purposes to cover losses at the Love Pit operation across Highway 9 from the subject site.
Excess water from these sources is also available for replacement purposes in months
when historic consumptive use credits from the irrigation rights aze not available.
EtDIDII G r¢s pnepmrd by fYnrJll Wamrpnginrers
dl quesliau rr8mdmg thin union thauld be d~nerrcd
la Ibrm.
G-2
