The text mentions mining will be done 1n
,~~ ~, stages 1 and 2 while stage 4 will potentially be used to stockpile
Z~ey ~° excess clay. there is no mention of disturbing stage 5, but there
`O ~ is some discussion of stockpiling topsoil 1n stage 6. Was stage 5
inadvertently listed when it is really stage 6 to be disturbed?
^~`6~, The first full paragraph on page 11 discusses the stockpiling
y h,~ of all topsoil from stage 2 1n stage 6. Near the end of this same
~'~'~" paragraph, however, the text mentions stockpiling topsoil from the
~ ~, east side of stage 2 in stage 2. Where will the topsoil in stage 2
p~,P be stockpiled?
~~
~~ M111 the topsoil stockpiled 1n Stage 6 be spread onto reclaimed
`~` areas prior to the mining of this stage?
0+'~3. The text on page 12 mentions during the mining of stages 2, 4, and
~~,w~'S the drainage courses will be diverted to isolate mining areas from the
~`,~ drainage. How does the operator propose to divert the dralnage(s)?
v.~ The original application submittal in 1981 discussed constructing
1~`y,~',sediment ponds. Th15 submittal, however, deletes any mention of
N«'yE ~yf"lnsta111ng sediment ponds. How does the operator propose to reduce the
ti~'~~yR-sediment load of water running off of the mine areas?
P'" r~~
S~r~ ~ Is the Division correct in assuming the life of this pro,]ect,
,~~5 dependent upon economic conditions, is for approximately 50 years?
