Box 85
Ouray, CO 81427
Re: Additional Adequacy Items, ZMK Mine Construction, Inc., ZMK Gravel Pit,
File No. M-91-146
Dear Mr. Larson:
After the site inspection January 16, 1992, of the proposed 2MK Gravel Pit,
the Division has the following additional concerns regarding the adequacy of
your limited impact permit application. Please address them separately at the
end of your response to the Division's adequacy letter dated January 13, 1992,
and refer to this letter.
Exhibit C - Mining Plan
~1~2 State how you will permanently mark the boundaries of the proposed
affected land in accordance with Rule 6.7(2).
X13 What are your plans to access the Phase II area from the west after the
river is diverted through the Phase I area? Describe how equipment
accessing the Phase II area will affect the quality of the river water
and the methods you will use to minimize disturbance to the river
including sediment containment.
°E~
14. A low area exists on the west side, near the north end, of the proposed
Phase I area. It appears that a structure such as a riprapped berm would
be needed at this location to keep the river from flowing into a more
westerly channel. Please address this concern.
