,... <br />Elevation is approximately 5500 to 5600 feet. <br />SECTION V <br />Reclamation Reco~~dations <br />After excavation of gravel, the area affected will be restored <br />to native vegetative cover. <br />Enough topsoil should be stockpiled in order to plate of backfill <br />any disturbed area with a minimian of at least four (4) inches of <br />topsoil. <br />All slopes after excavation should be graded to a minims of 4:1. <br />This will allow for reestablishment of permanent vegetative cover. <br />The seedbed should be as clean and firm as possible prior to planting. <br />It would be desirable to use a grass drill equipped with depth bands <br />and packer wheels. <br />A mixture of eight (8) potmds pure live seed (PIS) to the acre of <br />"Barton" or "Arriba" western wheat grass; and four and one half (4.5) <br />pounds PIS/Ac. of "Vaughn" or "E1 Reno" sideoats grama should be <br />planted. <br />The seeding should be mulched. If a straw or hay mulch is used a <br />m;n;rrnan of 4000 pounds per acre of air dry mulch should be used. <br />The mulch would be crimped into the soil following the seeding <br />operation. <br />Any seeding should be done in either early spring or late enough <br />in the fall so that ge~++~;nation will not occur until the next <br />spring. All seedir~gs should be protected from grazing or trampling <br />for a minimtan of two (2) full growing seasons following treatment. <br />
