LITTLE HERBICIDE PENETRATES INTO HI-DEP IS RAPIDLY AND MORE COM-
THELEAF; MUCH EVAPORATION LOSS. PLETELYABSORBED;VERY LITTLE LOSS.
• Canada thlsfle, field bindweed, wild artichoke,
hemp dogbane, nettles, and other tough
perennial weeds controlled at Iasi -with an
allordable post-emergence treatment.
• Also very effective on annual broadleaf
weeds. Including cocklebur, mariJuana,
morningglory, mustards, ragweed, ihisifes, and
velvetleaf. Over 120 species listed!
ply by ground or aerial equipment.
ensively used for special ultra low volume
applications; needs only enough water, If any,
for a total spray volume of 2 quarts minimum
per acre. (By ground: 1 fo 10 gal. minimum.)
• Droplets resist evaporation between noule
and target; remain wet and sticky on leaf
surface, recultinp in virtually complete
absorpTlon.
• Does not burn leaf tissue, even when applied
straight. Further enhances penetration and
translocation to the roots.
Unlike ordinary 2,4-D, more HI-DEP franslocates
Into the horizontal roots, thus killing more nodes.
CONTROLS MANY TOUGH PERENNIAL WEEDS
THAT ESCAPE ORDINARY 2,4-D. ANNUALS, TOO.
Acme HI-DEP® (patent pending) provides outstanding post-
emergence control of weeds such as Canada thistle, field bindweed
and hemp dogbane which, until now, have proven very difficult if not
extremely costly to control. HI-DEP overcomes the problem because it
penetrates deeply enough to get Into the extensive horizontal root
system and kills the nodes where regrowth occurs.
Contrast this to conventional 2,4-D treatments. While they often
appear to kill the weeds and may even eliminate their competing with
the crop, all too often only the tcos are burned off. The same weeds
- and more -reappear the next growing season. Year offer year.
HI-DEP Is different. It is o unique, formulation of mixed amines -
dimethylamine and diethanolamine which PBI/cordon reacts from
base acids -combined with a special additive which enhances the
producYS non•evaporatly quallilas. Unlike ortllnory 2,4-D, when
applied, HI-dPP droplets resist evaporation In flight and do not crystal-
lize. Just the opposite -they are "super wet," and are absorbed more
rapidly and completely by the leaf.
A radioisotope tracer study conducted by Oklahoma State Univer-
sity and publislied in the research report of the Norfh Central Weed
Control Conference Volume 24, 14$5J, shows that, within four hours,
over Twice as much HI-DEP will move Into the roots of field bindweed
than will standard 24-D.
Because of HI-DEP's eutectic characteristics, the finished spray
won't burn the leaf, even when applied straight or in low volume solu-
tions. Penehation is increased, even where thick or waxy cuticles or
hairy leaf surfaces tend to leave other herbicides high and dry. Acme
HI-DEP gets to the root of the problem -and at a cost that is little
more than for ordinary 2,4-D!
HI-0EP~ is a registeretl hodemark of PBIlGortlon Colpaation.
