shrubs will be planted. Species to be used will primarily be <br />• Mountain Mahogany, Gambel's Oak, and Antelope Bitterbru~,h. <br />b. Primary emphasis will be placed or..transplants, <br />but some tublings and seedings will also occur, but seecing will be <br />done only with Mountain Mahogany. <br />c. Each transplant shrub will be pruned prior to <br />removal, placed in a depression and given an initial watering. <br />d. Each transplant will be carefully monitored for <br />growth rate, phenology, and survivability. <br />Both test areas (grass and shrubs) will be carefully monitored for <br />at least 3 years. At the end of that time analysis of the data <br />will be used to determine what needs further testing. <br />Using this plan, we should be able to be determined which <br />• species are really successful and which are useless. <br />It is expected that some species will perform much better than <br />others depending on the site characteristics. From this testing <br />process a "fine tuning" of the plan can be achieved long before it <br />would be actually put into use in broad areas. <br />2) 5-E-3 - The nearly vertical backwalls of the terraces <br />must be analyzed for long term stability.
