Testing will examine two primary aspects. <br />A. The seed mixture for grasses; <br />B. The feasibility and survivability of shrub <br />transplants into the berm; <br />3. In general, the tests will be conducted as follows: <br />A. Grass Mixture Testing <br />a. The top and outer slopes of the berms will <br />be planted in any areas where no additional disturbance will occur. <br />~ • Methods will be the same as those to be used throughout the rest <br />of the mine. <br />b. Prior to seeding permanent quadrats will <br />be located in several areas that greatly differ in their slope and <br />aspect. <br />c. Monitoring will begin at once to examine <br />germination rates, seedling vitality, and density and cover changes <br />in the permanent plots. <br />d.
