alleviate the visual problems as perceived from the Crystal Hills <br />• area. <br />West portal reclamation ~vill occur concurrent with terrace <br />reclamation in that area, but the north portals will not be reclaimed <br />until the end of the mine. Terraces used for access to *_he portals <br />~•:ill rot he reclaimed until the end of the operation and even then may <br />remain if the underground storage plan is implemented. <br />In general reclamation would not be complete until at least <br />the year 2060. <br />TYF RI'CLAP9AmION PLAN AND ITS IMPLEME*ITATION - The presentation of the <br />reclamation plan will follow the format of Rule 6. <br />Grading - The eventual topography of tP.e area will differ <br />greatly from the original topography. The pit area will have terraced <br />walls G71t}1 most of the terraces being about 15t 3 feet wi3e and about <br />• 25 feet high. Some of the terraces where portals occur will be about <br />50 feet wide. The terrace steps will be sloped into the call about <br />1° to help control wash over the steps. <br />The ];erm o~ill have slopes of about 2:1 and a fl,st top and will <br />he completely vegetated. <br />The bacl:walls of the terraces will be nearly ve:=tical but <br />because of the stability of the limestone should not produce any hazards <br />of rocl:fall. <br />tIo toxic forming or acid producing substances occur in the <br />area. Therefore, treatment or handling of s~ich suhstance:a is of little <br />or no concern. <br /> Bacl:filling as such caill not be done in the quarry to any large <br />• degree. The only bac}:filling that u:ill occur is to supplement the plant <br />S-F-3 <br />
