Treatment will consist of simple settling and con-
trolled release of the water. C tear water will be discharged
from the smaller ponds by decantation via manually operated sip-
hons. The discharge from the larger pond will be via a re-
stricted flow drop inlet structure and pumping. The water dis-
charged from the sediment ponds will meet the following limita-
tions:
Iron, total (mg/1)
Manganese, total (mg/Z)
Total suspended solids (mg/1)
pH between
Maximum Avera e
~.5
4.0 2.0
45.0 30.0
6.0 and 9.0
Discharges not falling within the above limits will be stopped
and natural oxidation and settlement allowed to continue until
the water is of acceptable quality. Batch treatment of the
ponds with appropriate flocuiant or neutralizing chemicals will
be utilized if controlled natural processes are inadequate for
unusual runoff conditions.
M287
<;~ y.
