In what manner was the 3 acre foot per year net reduction in <br />surface water yield computed? <br />RESPONSE <br />Based on consumptive use of water for dust control at the mine, <br />records show that approximately 11 ac-ft (instead of the origi- <br />nal estimate of 3 ac-f t) have been used for dust control. This <br />use will result in an approximate 11-14 ac-ft per year reduction <br />in the surface water yield from the mine site runoff during <br />mining. Once mining and reclamation are completed, runoff quan- <br />tities derived from the mine site should approximate premining <br />conditions. <br />U <br /> <br />
