Year 9
• The last remaining ore will be extracted from the center portion of the pit
with reclamation expanding toward the center from north and south.
Complete reclamation of the dump will be possible at this time.
Year 10
All ore will have been extracted by the tenth year and stockpiled, allowing
reclamation of the entire site. (Figure D.5-11 and Exhibit F)
D.6 Ore Deposit and Overburden Information
Uranium and vanadium mineralization occur as roll type, laminar, and
solution front deposits within the third rim of the Salt Wash Member of
the Morrison formation.
•
The ore horizon lies within the Third Rim Sandstone at depths ranging
from 50 to 360 feet. The ore body averages six feet in thickness.
The overburden to be removed consists of both the Brushy Basin and Salt
Wash Members of the Morrison Formation. The Brushy Basin, having been
either eroded or faulted away in the southwest portion of the property,
has left the Salt Wash exposed. Moving towards the northeast portion of
the property the Brushy Basin thickens to 300 feet.
The majority of overburden to be removed is Brushy Basin, which consists
mostly of mudstone and shale, with lesser amounts of interbedded sand-
stone. That part of the Salt Wash to be removed consists also of mudstone
• and shale but with greater amounts of sandstone.
D-7
