2.05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROVND MINING ACTIVITIES -
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND RECLAMATION PLANS.
. A change house (pre-engineered) metal building to provide
sanitary shower and change room facilities for mine workers was
also located on the Portal Level. Office and training space for
mine Supervisory, Safety, and Engineering staff was located in
the upper level of the change-house facilities. This building
was removed during 2000. The foundation for this building
remains and will be pushed into the backfill of the East Mine
Portal Bench when restored to approximate original contours.
An area for fuel, lubricants, and maintenance equipment was lo-
cated on this level as well. The superstructure, tanks and
piping have all been removed. The foundations remain and will
be pushed into the backfill of the East Mine Portal Bench.
The main electrical substation for the mine is located at an
elevation of 7,140 feet. It reduces the incoming 46 KV power to
usable power for underground and surface operations. This
substation remains in place and is still operational.
At 6,990 feet elevation, the shop and warehouse buildings were
of a pre-engineered type on concrete slab foundations. The
6vildings were removed during 2000, but the footings remain.
Most of the footings will be pushed into the backfill, but some
will remain in place and simply buried in the fill under a
minimum of 4 feet of cover material.
• Across the road from this was a pre-engineered tire shop and
ground storage complex used for storage of large mine machinery
and storage of supplies. The tire shop has been removed during
2000 but the concrete foundations remain. Nearly all of the
supplies and machinery have been removed during 2000.
Surface Conveyors
The coal was conveyed to the surface on enclosed conveyor, C-0.
The operator removed this conveyor in 2000.
The direction of the conveyor structure was changed at Transfer
Tower Number 1. The operator removed this transfer tower during
2000.
The exiting conveyor, C-lA, emptied into the top of a 2,000-ton
surge bin (elevation 7050 feet) which is capable of handling
expected peaks in mine production and equalizing flow into the
crushing and screening building. The operator removed this
conveyor and most of this surge bin during 2000. The concrete
base which also contains two vibratory feeders of the 2000 ton
surge bin remains along with all of the footers for the
conveyor.
The operator removed the Crushing and Screening Plant during
2000. The concrete footings remain and a portion of the stacker
tube.
I•
Permit Renewal - 12 - 01/03
Rh-o 4 ~4~9~° 4~
/~1IZ-J a 6
