Box 9 <br />Granby, CO 80446 <br />RE: Adequacy Review, Proposed South Fork Gravel Pit, New 110c Construction Materials Limited Impact <br />Operation Reclamation Permit Application No. M-2009 <br />Dear Mr. Clark, <br />Listed below are adequacy review comments on the proposed South Fork Gravel Pit Permit Application No. M-2006-029. <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) is required to make an approval or denial decision no later than May 22, <br />2006, therefore, your response to the following adequacy review concerns should be submitted to the Division as soon as <br />possible. <br />Rule 6.3.1 Exhibit A -Legal Description <br />1. The legal description must identify the affected land to the nearest quarter-quarter section, Please revise Exhibit A to <br />include this information. <br />Rule 6.3.2(b) Exhibit B -Site Description <br />2. Exhibit B of the application states that there are no man-made structures within two hundred feet of the affected area. <br />However, based on the Index Map and apre-operation inspection conducted on May 9, 2006, Forest Service Road <br />(FSR) 142 and FSR 138 appear to be within two hundred feet of the affected area. Please revise Exhibit B to include <br />FSR 142 and FSR 138 as man-made structures located within two hundred feet of the affected area. <br />Rule 6.3.2(c) Exhibit B -Site Descriesion <br />3. Based on a review of the Index Map, there is a stream located immediately south of the proposed operation. Please <br />describe this stream in Exhibit B and indicate whether this stream will receive drainage directly from the affected <br />area. <br />Rule 6.3.3(b) Exhibit C - Minine Plan <br />3. Exhibit C of the application indicates that there is minimal topsoil on the site. However, the soil description included <br />with the NRCS letter indicates the subsurface layer consists of twelve inches of gravelly sandy loam. Based on the <br />soil description provided in the letter, the Division believes that the upper twelve inches of material would be suitable <br />for use as plan growth medium.
