A
• 2.05.3(2)
Where adverse roof conditions are encountered, spot bolting will be
used to supplement the conventional roof control plan. In areas
where spot bolting is deemed necessary, either resin or
conventional roof bolts will be installed. Spot bolting will begin
in competent roof and continue until competent roof is encountered
again. If necessary wire mesh matting or rib bolts will be
installed in main headings to maximize the stability of these
entries.
All conventional spot bolting materials will be chosen, installed
and positioned in accordance with 30 CFR 75.200-7, 75.200-8 and
75.200-10 and approved by MSHA.
Transportation. Materials will enter the main portals and will be
transported to the working faces by battery or diesel powered
vehicles. The main access roadways will be maintained.
Coal will be transported via underground conveyor belts. The
feeder breaker located at the continuous miner will break large
• blocks of coal into 8" or smaller pieces for belt transportation.
A section belt will transport crushed coal from the feeder breaker
onto the main underground belt conveyor. The coal then be conveyed
to the outside of the operation.
Electrical System. Power will be brought into the mine and fed
into a substation as shown on the Mine Facilities Map (Map 10).
This substation will provide power for both the surface support
facilities and for the electrical underground equipment. Amine
feeder will be located near the mine portal. Power will be
provided from the station to the mine feeder at high voltage, 4160
volts. The mine feeder will deliver power underground to
transformers which will step down voltages for distribution to
equipment. Production equipment in each section will be powered
from a power center. Equipment trailing cables will plug into the
power center. The power system will comply with all applicable
Colorado and MSHA rules and regulations.
• 2.05-12 Rev. 11-30-93
