Average slopes will not exceed 3:1.
To soil
Topsoil in the area varies in depth fran 2 inches to 2 feet.
Sufficient topsoil will be salvaged from the disturbed areas to
provide a cover of 6 inches. The topsoil will be stored in long,
narrow wind rows to provide a better growth medium for micro-
organisms. If topsoil will be stored for more than one year, a
quick growing cover crop of pubescent wheatgrass will be broadcast
on the piles.
Fertilizer and Mulch
It was recomnerxled by the SCS that a general fertilizer rate of
200 lbs. bulk of diammonia phosphate per acre be applied to all
disturbed sites. The mulch will be 2 tons of native hay per acre,
disced in, to minimize erosion.
Seedi~a
The proposed re-seeding rates are for drilling and will be doubled
if broadcast on disturbed areas
proposed:
The following seed mixture is
SPECIES RATE*
Arizona Fescue 1.5
Pubescent Wheatgrass 3.0
Hard Fescue 1.0
Western Wheatgrass 3.0
Western Yarrow .5
Rocky Mountain Penstomen .5
Russian Wildrye 2.0
11.5
'Seed rate in pounds of pure live seed.
