Recreational and Rock Climbing Activities
* Peck's Canyon, which lies in the proposed mining area and is commonly referred to as Little Owl Canyon is a
famous spot for rock climbers from around the world. Land owners Douglas and Kelly Park have allowed access
to many rock climbers who enjoy the serene beauty of the canyon and the sport of rock climbing.
* Dr. John Grill, who pioneered the sport of rock climbing, as attached a letter in opposition to the mining of the
canyon, and also cites several national and international publications which feature him climbing in Peck's
Canyon, as well as an awazd-winning rock-climbing film which shows him climbing in Peck's Canyon and was
shown on the Discovery Channel. We strongly urge you to read Dr. Gill's letter.
