Public Safety on County Roads Used by Mining Operation
* Residents of the Red Creek Springs Subdivision using the Pueblo County road Siloam Road, report lengthy
travel delays while waiting for Siloam Stone trucks to load on this county road. According to these residents,
the trucks block the road so that no traffic may pass until their loading or unloading of stone is complete.
* Residents of the Red Creek Springs Subdivison also using the Pueblo County road Siloam Road, report the
frequent presence of large pieces of stone lying on this road and posing hazardous driving conditions. These
lazge pieces of stone fall off of Siloam Stone trucks.
* The county road used by heary Siloam Stone trucks to transport enormous loads of rock and other products
of mining is also a county School Bus route. This is of great concern to parents in the area, both for the above
mentioned loading/unloading issue, the above mentioned hazardous rocks in the road, the potential blasting in the
area, and the heavy truck traffic which is virtually unregulated for speed, weight, etc.
