• Any areas of fill or subgrade <br />instability encountered during construction are to be immediately <br />brought to the attention of the Geotechnical Engineer, so recom- <br />mendations for stabilization can be given. <br />FILL CONSTRUCTION <br />PREPARATION ~ AREAS TO RECEIVE FILL <br />Areas where excavation or fill is re- <br />quired shall be cleared oP trees, stumps, roots, brush, sad, <br />topsoil, vegetation and other objectionable materials to minimum <br />depth of six (6) inches, or sufficient to remove all detrimental- <br />• ly organic material. The cleared materials, other than those <br />materials suitable for topsoil, shall be legally disposed of. <br />Any abandoned, buried structures or <br />Underground utilities encountered during grading operations shall <br />be totally removed or otherwise rendered harmless for the pro- <br />posed purposes of the fill, unless other specific recommendations <br />have been provided. The resulting depressions from the above <br />described procedures shall be backfilled with soil uniformly <br />compacted in accordance with the recommendations in the body of <br />this report. This includes, but is not limited to, septic tanks, <br />fuel tanks, sewer lines or leach lines, storm drains and water <br />lines. Any buried structures or utilities not to 6e abandoned <br />shall he investigated by the Geotechnical Engineer to determine <br />• if any special recommendation will be necessary. <br />13 <br />
