• accounts for inclusions end soil lose during selvage due to brush clearing.
%BF-Ninevsda•splitro Complex. Th1s map unit is located on the very steep bedrock
controlled sideslopes end ridges. All inclusions within this map unit have unsuitable
rock fragment contents at or Weer the surface. Na recoverable soil is available from this
map unit due to very steep slopes and excessive rock fragments (Addendum 8, Tab 9).
11C, 11D-Binco Silty Clay Loem. The Binco silty clay loam map units occur on the gently
sloping to moderately steep colluvial fans end residual sideslopes, benches, and
toeslopes. The soil profile is deep ri th a thin light colored surface horizon which
overlies a clay subsoil end substratum. Adjacent Aaberg soils have moderately deep
profiles. Buckskin soils have a dark colored surface horizon and subsoil clay
accumulation.
the recommended soil salvage thickness is based on [he thickness of the surface horizon
since subsurface clay levels are unsuitable. Soil salvage should be terminated near the
upper part of the Iambic (Bw) horizon. The mean in situ suitable soil thickness for 13
profiles is 6 inches (Addendum 8, Tab 9).
•
The 11C and 11D map units consist of 90 percent Binco with 5 percent each of Aaberg and
Buckskin (Addendum 3, Tab 9). A 0.5-f oot mean salvage thickness was used for these map
units to calculate recoverable soil volumes listed in Table 1 and Exhibit 9-1.
12C and 12D-Buckskin Clay Loam. Buckskin clay loam soils occur on gently sloping to
moderately steep mountain sideslopes, benches, tans, small knolls, and ridgetops. The
soil profile is deep and yell developed with a dark Colored surface horizon and subsoil
clay accumulation. This soil has a thinner surface horizon than either Cochetopa or
Routt. Adjacent Aaberg end Binco profiles lack a mollic epipedon and argillic horizon.
The recommended soil salvage thickness is based solely on the thickness of the surface
mollic epipedon and adjacent, untlerlying transitional horizons. Soil salvage should
he terminated at the top of the argillic (Bt) horizon. The mean in situ suitable soil
thickness for 16 profiles is 9 inches (Addendum B, Tab 9).
_ The 12C end 120 map units consist of 75 percent Buckskin rith 10 percent Binco and 5
• percent each of Buckskin variant, Aeber g, and Routt inclusions (Addendum 3, Tab 9).
