A topsoil borrow area for final reclamation of the Refuse Disposal Area (RDA) is shown on Map 13B.
This area will provide supplemental material to achieve the depth of cover required for reclamation of
• refuse disposal areas. Soil samples demonstrate at least three feet of suitable material exists within the
borrow area. An average of one foot (and not to exceed 1.5 ft.) of topsoil material will be stripped from
the borrow area and spread as needed on the RDA. Subsequently, the borrow area will be ripped to a depth
of 12-18", seeded and mulched using the range land seed mix. Shipping an average of one foot will leave
sufficient soils in place to adequately reve~etate the borrow area.
Fertilizer will be applied to the area receivine the bortowi;d material and the borrow area at the rate of 80
lbs./acre of P20~ and 60 lbs./acre of nitrogen.
TOPSOIL BORROW AREA -SOIL SAMPLE ANALYSIS
•
•
Interval 0-12" 12-24" 24-36" 0-12" 12-24" 24-36"
Silt
Texture Classification Loam Loam Loam Loam Loam Loam
Clay 20 21 19 ?6 21 18
Sand -31 38 36, 2ti 28 34
Silt 39 41 45 48 51 49
Saturation, % 49.5 49.5 48.5 52.9 51.4 44.9
pH 6.9 7.7 7.9 7.2 7.7 7.9
S.A.R. 0.24 0.3 0.36 0.26 0.39 0.75
Calcium, Soluble meq/L 0.89 1.28 1.51 0.92 0.95 0.84
Magnesium, Soluble meq/L 0.48 0.36 0.39 0.47 0.44 0.43
Potassium, extractable mg/Kg 20 13 14 66 50 30
Niira!e Gs N, soluble i 0.9 0 5 ~ 3 1 0:6 .
Nitrite as N, soluole 0 09 0.06 0.1 0.24 0.4
Nitrate/Nitrite as N 1 0.6 0.4 1.2 0.6 0.4
Phosphorous, extractable mg/Kg 1 2
Sample Locati~;r ~ oc:.`:~-.~t 7uaurer.: ~ ~.ocL'.:,vest quadrant
Interval 0-12" 12-24" 21-. ~ ~- i 2" 1 ~-24" 2 "- 30'
5:; Silt
Texture Classification Loam Loam Loam Loam Loam Loam
Clay 20 19 16 20 24 24
Sand 33 26 30 38 35 33
Silt 48 55 34 43 41 44
Saturation, % 50.8 48.1 30.6 47.4 48.3 47.4
pH 7.4 7.7 8.0 7.1 7.8 7.9
S.A.R. 0.17 0.44 2.01 0.44 0 99 1.81
Calcium, Soluble meelL 2.09 1 46 0.77 C.76 1.16 2.23
Magnesium, Soluble meq/L 0.73 0.68 0.4 0.41 0.58 0.9
Potassium, extractable mg/Kg 13 17 19 35 28 22
Nitrate as N, soluble 0.5 0.1 0.1 0.6 0.2 0.4
Nitrite as N, soluble 0.06 0.16 0.07 0.08
Nitrate/Nitrite as N 0.5 0.2 0.3 0.7 0.3 0.4
Phosphorous, extractable mg/Kg 1 2
(Revised 04/18/97)
2.05-11
