Operator will grade and stabilize any surface area <br />disturbed by this operation and revegetate the area, <br />following the best information available from qualified <br />organizations or persons. <br />R3. After the operation has been graded to conform with the <br />surrounding area, and overburden pushed back on the <br />mined area, the operator shall prepare the soil and <br />plant such legumes, grasses, shrubs and trees upon <br />the area of land affected as are necessary to provide <br />a suitable, permanent, diverse vegetative cover capable <br />of: <br />a. Withstanding recreational activity impact which <br />might reasonably be expected for the region concerned. <br />b. Regeneration under the natural conditions prevailing <br />at the site, including occasional drought, heavy <br />snowfall and strong winds. <br />c. Preventing soil erosion to the extent achieved <br />prior to the operation. <br />d. The species of plants to be used, the rate of <br />seeding per acre, spacing of trees and method of <br />planting shall be determined by recommendations <br />from the agricultural substations, local soil con- <br />servation district and other qualified individuals. ' <br />e. The board, in consultation with the landowner and <br />local soil conservation district, shall determine <br />when recreational activity may begin. <br />Safety <br />S1. Operator will fence the area covered by the reclamation <br />permit, consisting of a stock fence. <br />Stabilization <br />ST1. Operator will maintain and stabilize finished slopes <br />at a maximum angle not to exceed the approximate <br />original contour of the land or to a ratio no steeper <br /> <br />-3- ~ <br />
