Initial dewatering will commence at the east side of the <br />project at the e?;istiny pond area. Dewater.ing <br />,hall commence after topsoil and overb+_+rden have been <br />removed. A settlement pond will be <br />constr~+cted along the soi_+th boundaries afi the e;:cavati.nr?s <br />and the water from the trench and s+..+mp system will be <br />p~+mped into this pond. Al.l dews±eriny shall 6e direct.ed to <br />the settlement pond befinr'e allowiny .it t.n ogress bac4:: to <br />the river. A Colorado Department of Wa.±er Llt+ali.ty permit <br />is being applied for L"he dischar-ye points to the r-.iver. <br />Same dewatering discharge may be directed to the Hayue <br />the Hogue Ranch .irr".igation system if condi.t.ions warrant. <br />This w.i.ll lower the water table in the mining area and <br />alp-o dewater the gravel in .its undistur-bed natural strai.e. <br />By m.ini.mi.zing disturbance nfi the gravel prior to <br />dewateriny, we will 6e pumping mostly clean water to the <br />settling pond, therefore minimi~i.ng P;:cess mud and si.J.t <br />accumulatir_,ns .in the pond.
