JERRY SERIES
The Jerry series is a member.of the fine,
montmorillonitic family of Argic Cryoborolls. Typically,
Jerry soils have dark grayish brown soils in their A, B,
and C horizons. They have friable, medium fine granular,
loamy A horizons; friable, medium fine, sub angular blocky,
clayey B horizons; and friable, aubangular blocky to massive,
clay to heavy clayey loam C horizons.
The Jerry series are deep, well-drained soils that formed
in residuum and colluvium from sandstone bedrock. They occur
on steep mountain slopes. These soils have slow permeability
• and slow runoff.
Typifying Pedon: Jerry loam, fine mixed (colors are for
dry soils unless otherwise noted).
A (0-4"): Dark grayish brown (10YR 5/2) loam, very
dark gray brown (10YR 3/2) moist; moderately fine granular
structure; loose, triable, sticky and plastic; 10~ stone,
25~ gravel; noneffervescent; mildly alkaline (pH 7.5); clear

wsvy boundary.
B (4-9"): Dark grayish brown (10YR 5/2) clayey loam,
very dark gray brown (10YR 3/2) moist; moderately fine
subangular and blocky structure; hard, friable, sticky and
plastic;.10~ gravel; nonefferevescent; mildly alkaline (pH
7.5); clear wavy boundary.
