• on the ridges. This area is starting to revegetate. Road
segement #1 occurs on a ridge and is cut in topsoil. The
topsoil is 12 inches deep over weathered sandstone. Road
segment #2 exposes weathered bedrock in the cut bank. The
road segment has a clay surface. The material used for fill
has the potential to be revegetated. The stripped area has
exposed weathered bedrock. This area will need topsoil for
revegetation to occur.
Road to Drill Site #7 and the Pad Area
This lateral road was divided into nine road segments
and a collection pit. The first segment has shallow to
moderately deep soils over fractured sandstone. These soils
• are similar to mapping units #1 and #2 of the pad area. The
roadbed of this segment has a clay layer. One area of the
road bed is vary stony. Fill slopes are a mixture of loamy
clay and stones. Revegetation is occurring on the fill
slopes..
The second road segment contains shallow soils over
sandstone or weathered bedrock. The cut slopes expose raw
sandstone or shale. Some sloughing is occurring on the cut
slopes. The roadbed has less than four inches of soil over
weathered sandstone.
Segment #4 has deep alluvial soil. A narrow, drainage
occurs in this segment. Road segment #5 contains deep
. colluvial soils with three feet of loam and clay over a
