Any significant proposed changes in the project after
permit approval would be reviewed with the appropriate regulatory agencies before
changes take effect_
Staging areas to be used by the drilling contractor will be used in a manner to minimi~P
damage to the vegetation Any surface disturbance to these sites will be re-graded and
seeded to promote rehabilitation
Access mutes are maintained to accommodate full sized 4X4 pickup trucks, ATVs, and
required drilling equipment, including but not limited to the following: truck mounted or
skid mounted drill rig, air compressors andbr booster, rig-up truck, portable water tanks,
boom truck, utility trailer, drill pipe lay~lown rack, and crew trucks.
Topsoil has been stripped, stockpiled, and identified with a sign as part of the Sylvester
Gulch Construction AclivitiP.S in 1997.
No mudpit to accommodate drill cuttings will need to be constructed.
DRILLING ACTIVITIES
Drilling activities for the proposed concrete delivery drill hole will include mobilizing
drill equipment to the site and drilling and setting approximately 40 feet of 12-inch
surface casing into bedrock. The hole will be rotary air drilled to a depth of
approximately 430 feet where the hole will intercept the E Seam. The hole will be drilled
with a 9-inch diameter hole to the E-Seam, then cased with 7 ID steel casing and grouted.
A depiction of a typical completed well will be forwarded to the CDIv1G along with the
typical plug and abandonment diagram.
Initially, MSI-IA may require monitoring and inspection of the wells twice daily after
installation It is anticipated the frequency of monitoring would decrease to a weekly
monitoring and inspection of the installation Routine maintenance will occur to the
extent necessary, simultaneous with the weekly monitoring.
