~..:, <br />ATTACHMENT 6 <br />INTRODUG"I'ION <br />The Craig Coal Area, located in western Colorado, is approximately <br />seven to ten miles south of the town of Craig. See Figure 1. <br />Knox• liergman• Shearer Corporation was retained in a consulting capacity <br />by Stearns-Roger Incorporated to perform the following functions: <br />1. Receive and examine cores at twelve drillsites. <br />2. Maintain core logs with written lithologic descriptions and depth of <br />each stratum. <br />3. Prepare, package and ship cores to the Colorado School of Mines <br />1 <br />Research Institute. <br />4. Determine, in cooperation with soil scientist, specific locations <br />along cores for detailed analyses to be provided by the Colorado <br />School of Mines Research Institute. <br />5. Assist soil scientist in locating and identifying outcropping strata <br />within the project area in order to aid him in preparing a general <br />summary of surface sampling. <br />6.
