<br />Application Information
<br />ESCORT XP is recommended to control many species of weeds and deciduous
<br />trees on sites whore conifers are growing or are to be planted. Apply by ground
<br />cquipmrnt or by au (helicopter only). Rcftt to the "Wecds Controlled" and
<br />' Brush Species Controlled" for a listing of susceptible species.
<br />Appgcatlo¢ Timing
<br />Apply ESCORT XP after weeds have emerged or after undesirable hardwoods
<br />have broken winter dormancy and have rached the point of full leaf expansion.
<br />Conifer Site Preparafioss-Application Before Transplanting
<br />After consulting [hc "Weeds Controlled" and "Bmsh Species Controlled" tables
<br />apply the rate of ESCORT XP recommended for the most difficult ro control
<br />specks on the site.
<br />Southeast-Apply up to 4 oz per acre for loblolly and slash. Tmnsplan[ the
<br />following planting season.
<br />Northeast and Leke States-Apply up m 2 oz pcr acre for red pine. Tmnsplan[
<br />the following planting uazon.
<br />Weri-Apply up to 2 oz per ecm prior to planting Douglas Fu, Sitka Spmce,

<br />Range and western slope of the Cazcadcs in Oregon and Wazhing[on. These conifer
<br />species listed can be planted anytime after application. Othtt conifer species can
<br />be planted providing the user has prior experience indicating acceptable tolerance
<br />to ESCORT XP soil residues. Without prior experirncq it is recommended that
<br />other spates be planted on a small scale ro determine selativiry before large scale

<br />Tank mix 2 ounces of ESCORT XP with 3 ounces of OUST per acre for
<br />herbaceous weed control and early spring suppression of bull thistle and Canada
<br />this0e in the Coast Range and wcstcm slope of the Cascade Mountains. Douglas
<br />ftr may be transplanted at least 90 days following application.
<br />Release-Hardwood Control and Suppresakn
<br />DuPoatTM ESCORT XP is recommended for application over the top of etab-
<br />lished slazh and loblolly pine to control the species listed in "Weeds Controlled"
<br />and "Bmsh Species Controlled" actions of this label. Apply 1 to 4 ounces per
<br />acre to control the species indicated,-including kudzu.

<br />IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS--CONIFER PLANTATIONS ONLY
<br />• Applications of ESCORT XP made [o conifers that aro suffering from loss
<br />of vigor caused by insects, diseases, drought, winter damage, animal damage,
<br />excessive soil moismrc, planting shock, or other stresses may injure or kill the
<br />trees.
<br />• Applications of ESCORT XP made for herbaceous release should only be
<br />made after adequate rainfall bas closed the planting slit and settled the soil
<br />around the roots following transplanting.
<br />• Do not apply ESCORT XP ro conifers grown az ornamentals.
<br />• ESCORT XP npplicatims may result in damage and mortality to other species
<br />of conifers when they arc present on sites with those listed in the preceding
<br />recommendations for conifer plantations.
<br />HARDWOOD PLANTATIONS

<br />ESCORT XP is recommended at cotes up to 2 ounce pcr acre for the control of
<br />many weed spates on sites where yellow poplar is growing or is ro be planted
<br />and on sites where rod alder is [o be planted. Apply by ground equipment or by -r.~

<br />ESCORT XP may be applied as a site prcpamticn treawent prior to planting

<br />ESCORT XP may also be applied over-the-top of plattted yellow poplar seedlings

<br />NON-AGRICULTURAL USE REQUIREMENTS
<br />The requirements in this box apply ro uses of this product [hat ere NOT within
<br />the scope of the Worker Protection Standard for agrimltural pesticides (40 CFR
<br />Part 170). The WPS applies when this product is used to produce agdculNral
<br />plants on farms, forats, nurseries, or granhouscs.
