According to Mr. Weatherly, the pit will
not extend into the Colorado ;river.
The area has been~ompletely denuded by past grav l extraction thus there
is not any terrestrial vegetation to speak of on the site. `i'}ie only thing
that I v:ould suggest ids is that a minimum lnn foot berry be left between the
Colorado River and the pit zndfbe banxs on the gravel pit be sloped back
to a maximum of 2;1 and a minimum of 3:l slong. 1'he company has
already saved the topsoil from the site, such as it is, his topsoil
should be replaced around the pit when all the v:ark is ~~~rl~ted and the are.
reseeded to grasses that would be beneficial to ~hi:~ site. she company
~•~i7] nrnbably still occupy the site even after all the gravel is extracted
because they have a batch plant set up on the site. Therefore, they would
probably not be interested in selling the site or leasing it to the Livision
to develop as a fisheries or wildlife area. ~11so, I am enclosing this
"Notice of Anproval from the Division of Wildlife" form that was furnished
by the company. I would suggest that you forwaed this to our ~nvironrnental a
Resources section.
cc: George Steele
File

~,,;.
I~ .d,~
- EXHIBIT D
~ ~
Gf P•A•S•~
