• Additional berm and ditch maintenance required. Berm heights were increased at
several locations and sediment removed from ditches to restore capacity.
• Additional maintenance required on several road outlets. Additional riprap was
placed to stop minor downcutting.
Third quarterly inspection -August 4 through 6. Site in general compliance with
several maintenance items noted.
• Two culverts were plugged due to the July 27 storm. Backup runoff control had
adequately controlled the runoff with little sign of erosion. One culvert was
cleaned and the other replaced.
• Two road outlets were relocated to locations that aze more appropriate and would
require less maintenance.
• Several sumps, ditches, sediment checks, culverts, etc. were cleaned out and
maintained.
• Some downcutting noted on several road outlets. Additional riprap was placed in
appropriate locations.
Fourth quarterly inspection -November 18 through 20.
• Several culverts needed to be cleaned out. Sediment had accumulated in the
culverts due to the natural bed-loads of undisturbed channels. Sediment was
removed below the culverts so they could flush out once they receive runoff.
• Additional filter rock was placed in the sediment sump between Transfer Station
#2 and Slot Storage.
Other items of significance during 1998 include the cleaning out and enlazgement of
sediment ponds servicing refuse pits 2/3 and 4.
