2. We will stockpile overburden that won't immediately he
utilized for reclamation in the that portion of the A-1 and A-
2 areas as illuatraCed on the mining plan. We do not
anticipate stockpiling a great portion of this overburden. It
is our intent to reclaim the perimeter with this material as
we progress in excavation. Therefore since most stockpiles
will only be left for a short duration, short-term
stabilization would be inappropriate. However, any stockpiles
left for more than one growing season will be temporarily
revegetated, they will be clearly separate from topsoil piles,
and the manager on site will be able to identify which piles
are which to any MLRD inspector.
One other item which I'd like to
of topsoil stockpiles along the U.S.
northern portion of the property. We
safety and sound barrier purposes.
revegetated.
Exhibit E
mention, is the addition
85 perimeter on the
are doing this f.or
This material will be
1. We feel the stability of the areas along U. S. RS will not
be endangered by the 2 to 1 elopes, as the actual roadway
surface starts over 30' from our fence. Therefore during
mining our operation will be separated by over 40' (out 10'
plus their 30'), We have received permission from the Highway
Department for mining within 10' of their right-fo-way.
2. In accordance with your recommendation and ae per the
County's Planning Commission approval, we agree [o have SA :IV
elopes in the sand bar area to a depth of 5', after which the
slope will be returned 2H:1V to the depth of the lake.
3. Most new highway construction pro~ecta require the
importation of topsoil, and therefore we must provide for this
community need. Since nine inches exists now on the property
is some areas and supports vegetation, we feel that Chia depth
of topsoil on the property Se quite sufficient to produce
whatever vegetation is necessary. We, therefore, feel that an
average of 9" of topsoil is more than adequate.
LlS:S.LET.54..81.9A
