EXHIBIT U - Mining Plan
1st Stage - Topsoil removal and stockpiling by motor scrapers.
• 2nd Stage - Gravel & Sand Piaterial excavated by front end loaders and processed
through crushing and screening plant.
3rd Stage - Replacement of topsoil and sloping of banks and leveling of pit floor
to drain.
4th Stage - Seeding of area.
No water diversion or impoundment will be done. Surface of excavated area +eill
drain in same manner as before excavation. The excavation area now being operated
in is approximately 11 acres. This has been excavated in the past 3 years. Tde
plant to maintain approximately the same size operating area and replace the stock-
piled topsoil in the excavated area as we continue excavation. It would appear
that approximately 3 acres per year will be excavated and 3 acres graded and top-
soiled per year. Since there is 20 acres to be mined it would take 6-7 years for
completion.
The gravel strata is from 15' to 20' in depth with approximately 3' of topsoil and
overburden and rests on the Pierre shale formation.

D ~ r 1 3 1977
fri!,+!EO LApJO RECLP.~ATiON
Cole.
