~ Section 780.111b1 Continued.
miscellaneous supplies. By having a suitable, centrally located facility, it is reasonable to
expect that land use intensity and productivity can be increased over the premining
condition through more intensive land management, possibly including managed
rotational grazing, dryland hay cropping, or development of limited areas of irrigated
pastureland. Kerr has negotiated with and received earnest money from a prospective
buyer for both the mine and loadout areas. The prospective buyer has requested that
the existing shop structures in both the mine and loadout areas be retained in
conjunction with his proposed future use of these properties.
Light-Use Entrance Road (Mine Areal -Kerr established a main haul road, Haul Road A,
from the mine entrance gate to the office/shop/warehouse facility, with connecting
roads to the active mining areas. On cessation of active mining operations, Kerr
submitted and obtained DMG approval of a Minor Revision, MR-25, to narrow Haul Road
A consistent with proposed future use and redesignate the road as a permanent light-use
road. The light-use road will be utilized in conjunction with the proposed postmining
land use to provide continued access to both the office/shop/warehouse building and
. general reclaimed mine area.
Sedimentation Ponds A, B, D, and E - As described in Sections 780.11, 780.25, and
816.46, Sedimentation Ponds A, B, D, and E will be retained in conjunction with the
proposed postmining land use as permanent impoundments to provide watering sources
for livestock and wildlife and as a beneficial habitat component relative to wildlife
reestablishment and use.
Existing Water Supply Wells -Kerr currently owns and maintains two water supply
wells and the associated water rights, one in the mine area and one in the loadout area.
These wells will be retained as a water supply source in conjunction with the proposed
postmining land use to provide water for stock watering, limited irrigation, and other
grazing-related uses, as required.
Light-Use Access Road (loadout Areal - An existing road, which is partially paved and
partially gravel surfaced, was used by Kerr as a haul road to connect the Kerr loadout
with the nearby County road. Given that future beneficial use of the reclaimed loadout
. area is dependent on reasonable access, this road will be retained as a permanent
access road and will be redesignated as a light-use road. The road is currently relatively
TR-19 780-13a Revised 11/98
