<br />C 3.3 Pedestrian Survey <br />Intensive inventories of the two survey tracts has resulted in the <br />location and recordation of 12 cultural resources localities, all of them <br />in Tract [; see Figure 1-2 for the location of these loci. Two of these <br />localities are prehistoric sites, while the remaining 10 loci are <br />pr-vhistoric IF. The artifact <br />assemb a-1 ye includes tvru ncnutilized primary flakes and tom fragments of a <br />unifacially worked flake. All artifacts have been fa slot oned front chert. <br />The site is located on a gentle slope next to a shallow, intermittent <br />drainage channel. On-site vegetation consists of Suniper trees, big <br />sagebrush, ricegrass, short grasses, cactus, and matclrv;eed. No features <br />were observed. The absence of diagnostic artifacts precludes the <br />possibility of assigning temporal nr cultural affiliations to the site. <br />The si±e is believed tv represent a short-[errs locus of prehistoric <br />lithic manufacturing and scraping activities. <br />5!•IIi2903 - a small scatter of chipped stone materials. The artifact <br />assenib,orge iincludes eight nonutilized flakes, of which five arc made of <br />quti•tzi[e one three of chert. Three quartzite flakes have no cortex, <br />while tl:e remaining quartzite flakes and all of the chert f1aF,es are <br />~ cortical. Ilo prepared tools vrcr•r. found.
