4H:1 V, water will be impounded at that interface. Furthermore, the post-mining
watershed will re-direct what were several small watersheds into a single discharge point.
Is the natural channel that will receive this additional run-off capable of handling the
increased flows and safely conveying post-mining run-off into the St. Charles River?
Please explain.
This is discussed in more detail under Exhibit E where clarification of the surface water
flow and impoundment issues will be requested and under Exhibit F where additional
details about the post-mining topography are requested.
(d) The size of area to be worked at any one time.
This is adequately addressed in the pemut application document but the combined areas
of active mining and reclamation must be clarified as discussed above.
(e) An approximate timetable to describe the mining operation.
The overall plan is adequately depicted on the maps and well described in the text of the
application. In consultation with the Office, the Applicant must
demonstrate pursuant to Subsection 6.5(4), Geotechnical Stability Exhibit,
that offsite areas will not be adversely affected by blasting.
These items have been addressed in the application.
