6.4.3 EXHIBIT C -Pre-mining and Minine Plan Map(s) of Affected Lands
Maps, with the exception of the map of the affected lands, are required to be prepazed in
accordance with Rule 6.2.1(2) which requires a scale not larger that 1 inch=50 feet or
smaller than linch= 600 feet. The maps submitted with this application are at a scale of
linch=2000 feet and linch=1000 feet. Please revise accordingly.
One or more maps may be necessary to legibly portray the following information:
(a) All adjoining surface owners of record.
In reviewing the legal right to enter and conduct mining operations under Exhibit
N, it came to the division's attention that a parcel of land claimed as an adjoining
landowner may in fact be GCC fee land. The pazcel in question is identified as
2500000019 on Exhibit C-1. That portion of this parcel that lies east of the
DRGRR appears to have been identified as parcel # 8 under the Warranty Deed
conveying land from Douglas Thacker to Rio Grande Portland Cement Corp. The
legal description of this parcel is "the E % of the SE '/4 of the NW Y< East of the
D&RG Railroad in Section 26, Township 22 South, Range 65 West of the 6`s
P.M., County of Pueblo, State of Colorado. There is another orphan piece of land
that adjoins the above pazcel (just to the south) that is not included in any of the
legal descriptions of leased or fee land. The approximate legal description for this
parcel would be "NE '/a of the NE '/< of the S W '/ lying east of the DRGRR in
Section 26, Township 22 South, Range 65 West of the be` P.M., County. This
maybe the other piece of property that was to be included with parcel
2500000019. Please revise Exhibit C-1 as appropriate to address these
inconsistencies. '
(b) The name and location of all creeks, roads, buildings, oil and gas wells
and power and communication lines on the area of affected land and
within two hundred (200) feet of all boundaries of such area.
This information is adequately represented on the maps and text of the permit
application.
(c) The existing topography of the area with contour lines of sufficient
detail to portray the direction and rate of slope of the affected land.
The maps in the permit application adequately represent the surface of the area to
be mined, however more information is required of the limestone bed itself. What
is the pre-mining condition of the limestone deposit, please show a stratigraphic
column of the immediate rocks down to the first confined aquifer. Please indicate
the overburden contours over the Fort Hayes Limestone. The strike is represented
as N 49° W, please indicate the dip of the limestone.
