The purpose of this cn~spondence is to providc <br />information regarding the precipitation event4 and prioritize and providc a schedule for maintenance and <br />rcpzir of sediment control facilities. <br />The permit provides the following climatological information: <br />Average Anaual Precipitation (7200' Elevation): 1632" <br />10 year-24 hour storm event: 2.90" <br />25 year-24 hour storm event 3.40^ <br />100 year-241tour storm event 4.20" <br />The following precipitation was recorded at the Lurencito Mine: <br />August 3, 2004 approximately ~-9 pm 0.9" <br />August 4, 2004 approximately 1:50-5:30pm 3.5" 24-hour total 4.4" <br />August 6, 2004 0.3" <br />August 9, 2004 1.5" <br />August 11, 2004 approximately 6:30.7:15pm 0.8" <br />August 12, 2004 0.2" <br />Auemut 13, 2004 0.5 <br />Total August (to-datc): 7.7" <br />The 100-year storm event of August 4 resulted in Ponds 7, 8, 9 and 4A discharging, Ponds 8, 9 and 9A <br />discharged over the primary. Pond 8 discharged over die embattlonent resulting in Some ciasion of the <br />embankment out-slope: The west annoyed-down-drain at fill 8could not contitin the full flow and was <br />severely eroded. The down-drains of fills 7 and 9 contained their flews but armoring was scoured out to <br />bedrock in several places. <br />
