1 <br /> EXHIBIT 1 — SOILS <br /> Soils within the proposed disturbance areas of the permit area generally consist <br /> of deep, well-drained sandy and loamy alluvium, formed on low terraces and <br /> ' bottomlands. <br /> The capability classification by the United States Department of Agriculture, Soil <br /> ' Conservation Service (SCS) and excerpts from the Soil Survey of Otero County <br /> (SCS, 1972), are contained in this Exhibit. The SCS capability classifications for <br /> 1 the soils in the permit boundary indicate that the soils are suitable for use as <br /> ' native pastureland or irrigated cropland. <br /> ' Soil types mapped within the proposed permit boundary are shown on Figure I. <br /> 1 <br /> ' 34 <br />
