1 <br /> ' EXHIBIT E— RECLAMATION PLAN <br /> The post-mining land use will be as wildlife habitat for the North Mining Area and <br /> as rangeland for the South Borrow Pit Area. <br /> ' Reclamation Process: <br /> North Mining Area: <br /> After topsoil/overburden is removed and stockpiled using a scraper, mining will <br /> begin. Reclamation will be concurrent with mining such that rather than <br /> excavating the mined pond to the near-vertical and backfilling with fines from the <br /> ' washing operation or overburden, the pond slopes will be left at 3:1 and 2:1, as <br /> ' per State regulations, to the bottom of the pit. The pond edges will be sloped at <br /> 3:1 beginning inward from the 20 ft. setback until the slope is 10 ft. below the <br /> ' pond water level, at which point the dragUne will excavate at 2:1 to the pond/pit <br /> ' floor. <br /> 1 Fines will be washed from the screens back into the pit will also create shallow <br /> ' pond slopes in certain areas of the pit. This will enhance the shorebird wildlife <br /> potential with a more rapid invasion of wetland plants and shallow water areas. <br /> There will be a large oversupply of topsoil/overburden at this area of the mining <br /> permit. Overburden averages 2.5 ft. over a majority of the 142-acre area to be <br /> stripped and excavated. The reclaimed pond shorelines and setback areas <br /> ' amount to only 14.5 acres. In terms of quantities, approximately 572,700 cubic <br /> ' 19 <br />
