MINING PLAN (Continued)
The ground-water• pumped will be discharged into adjoining swales and —
field ditches where it will percolate or drain to the river. Mining
will then proceed through direct removal or stockpiling. Additional 1/
mining areas will be opened as necessary to meet the demand. As soon
as a large enough area has been mined, the banks will be reshaped to
the final slope, the top-soil replaced and the reclamation process in-
itiated.
Small amounts of water will be used for washing and dust control . Water
used in this manner will re-enter the ground through settling basins or
trenches and not be directly discharged to any stream.
It is estimated that the life of this project will be from 4 to 5 years.
The mining operation will be governed by the State Health Department
• regulations for Noise, Dust and Discharge of Water and also conform to
the Special Use Standards established by Weld County for other opera-
ting conditions.
D2
