• Total vegetative cover will be the cover sampling technique used. Cover data will
be collected by species to determine composition and diversity.
Production sampling will be done by clipping vegetation in 2.4 sq. ft. quadrants at
ground level. Clippings will be bagged, identified, air dried and weighed. Plants
rooted in the quadrant (basal concept) will be harvested. All quadrants will be
given the same weight since the reference area was chosen for its similarity to the
homogeneous range land on which revegetation is being established.
Upon completion of the ash disposal operation all waste will be removed or buried
to prevent water or visual pollution. Unsalvageable materials will be buried in the
pit above ground water level and at least 4 feet below AOC.
The final highwalls will be back filled to AOC. There are no acid forming
materials in the coat seam as shown in sump water data presented under Section
2.04.7 this document.
Structures used in the mining operation will be removed, the ground will be
topsanded, fertilized, and revegetated. The shale and gravel in the equipment
parking area will be removed and buried in the ash pit. The area will then be
topsanded, fertilized, and revegetated.
• Sealing and Managing Drillholes
Drillholes shown on Appendix M-1 have been converted to water monitors, have
been mined through, or permanently plugged.
Holes that were completed for ground water monitoring purposes are summarized
in the McWhorter report (Appendix I, P. 26).

11 fi
