Golden Wonder Mine
DBMS Mine Permit No M-1978-091
Storm Water Management Plan
will review the housekeeping conditions during their routine site inspections as
part of the stormwater management practice review.
e. Spill Prevention and Response Procedures
Very little fluid material is stored or used outside within the Level 6 pad. The
most likely source of spills would be from machinery of vehicle fuel/oil leaks.
Machinery and vehicles are maintained in working order and should not act as a
significant source of these types of spills. Solvents and machinery tools are kept
within the workshop and storage building. In summary, it is unlikely that any
spills would occur as a result of activities within the Leve16 pad.
Fluid spills will be responded to in an appropriate marmer with the absorption of
any free -spilled fluids with the use of sorbent towels. These towels will then be
properly disposed of with any residual material being mixed in with surface
materials and shoveled into barrels or bags for disposal.
Drums used for disposal, and any metal container used for fluid storage will be
kept on pallets or other raised surfaces so as to minimize corrosion of their bases,
and will also be covered to prevent accumulation of water.
f Emnloyee Education
GGI is held responsible for environmental compliance issues surrounding the
mine. GGI personnel are experience in stormwater management practice design
and implementation (certifications obtained from CDOT stormwater training from
2000 to present) and will be responsible for oversight of property activities.
Stormwater management practices will be constantly monitored as part of the
oversight in order to ensure their continued maintenance.
g. Identification of Dischar~?es other than stormwater
There are no other discharges associated with the mine. All water management
practices associated with the mine are in compliance with all components of the
Clean Water Act. There are no point source discharges as all water encountered
underground is managed underground.
5. Additional SWMP Items for Sites Seeking Mine Remediation/Permit Termination
Not Applicable.
6. Comprehensive Inspection
GGI personnel will be responsible for routine mine inspections to review the integrity of
the stormwater management practices and initiate any maintenance where needed.
