1 1 The mining for all the phases will progress in this same general Pashion. The mining plan notes the various setbacks with which we will comply. Most of the cottonwood trees along the South Platte River will be preserved. We are proposing a 100' setback from the east edge of the new South Platte River channel as proposed in the Phase B Master Plan prepared by the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District. If the mining proceeds closer than 400' from the river we will be required to do the river channel improvements. According to our agreement with the McCann Ditch Company, the lake resulting from the mining will be segmented into three sections. The water elevation in the upper two lakes will be controlled by overflow pipes. In this way we can stabilize the groundwater table and the lake elevation at approximately the same level and thus not affect the McCann Ditch. The location of these dikes has also been coordinated with an existing natural gas line owned by the Coors Energy Company. Section BB on the plan shows the typical dike excavation for those portions of the dike which do not contain the gas line. Esentially we will be excavating a trench where the dike is to be located and then backfilling this trench with overburden. We will then excavate the gravel resource on each side of the backfilled trench. The proper 3:1 slopes will be constructed. Section AA shows the dike where it does contain a gas line. Included at the end of this section is a response from the Caors Energy Company regarding the terms of the •asament for the gas line. Table of Disturbance Size of Areas to be worked at any one time.
