Pane123 would be completed 4`h quarter 2004. MDWs for both Panel 22 and 23 are to be
completed in the 2003-drilling season, June-September 2003.
MCC will complete as many of the listed MDWs as possible, understanding that
completion of all these wells is a function of several factors.
It is this coal production schedule that drives the need for the listed MDWs. If
this schedule varies going forward, the need for more or less MDWs would be necessary.
If this schedule vazies MCC will contact Forest Service and discuss these corresponding
needs resulting from the schedule vaziance.
Also, affecting the number of MDW's is the concentration of methane that is
encountered as mining proceeds. Current well plans are based on the best information
available at this time. However, as the development of future panels progresses more
information is made available which will allow MCC to adjust well plans accordingly. In
addition as panels are mined conditions maybe encountered that would require additional
wells to be able to safely and efficiently produce the coal. Should such adjustments
become necessary, MCC will contact the Forest Service and discuss adjustments to the
drilling plan.
Map 1 depicts MCC's production timing and necessary MDW's for 2003 based
on current available information.
2003 METHANE DRAINAGE WELLS
MCC intends to drill 17 MDW holes in 2003. Eight of the holes will be completed
for Panel 22 mining and 9 for Panel 23. Map 2 depicts the MDW's in relation to
topographic location. Additional wells may be drilled in Panel 17 on an as-needed basis.
Such wells could be contained with coal lease COC-1362 as well as COC-56447.
Current plans, pending approval are to drill 2 to 3 additional wells at the beginning of
Panel 17. These wells have been included in the list provided as follows:
MD W ID Number MCC Federal Lease Number
22-01 COC-56447
22-Ola - COC-56447
22-02a COC-56447
22-02b COC-56447
22-03 COC-56447
22-04 COC-56447
22-OS COC-56447
22-06 COC-56447
23-01 COC-56447
23-01 a COC-56447
23-02 COC-56447
23-03a COC-56447
23-03b COC-56447
23-04 COC-56447
23-OS COC-56447
