• (iv) Where range or pasture is the proposed land use, the
detailed management plans to be implemented following release of the
permittee's liability in accordance with 3.03.
BESPONSE:
Since the surface and underground mining disturbances are
contiguous, the postmining land use description presented herein
addresses both mine sites. Implementation of the reclamation plan
presented under Rule 2.05.4 will return land disturbed within the
proposed permit area to the premining land uses of pastureland and
cropland. These land uses will be achieved by backfilling and
grading to approzimate original contour, restoring drainage patterns
• to the original function, redistribution of topsoil, and planting
the appropriate perennial seed miatures. Contour furrows will be
utilized to impede surface runoff and control erosion until the
vegetation becomes established. Should a nozious weed infestation
or other biological malady arise, remedial measures will be
instituted. Domestic livestock will not be allowed onto the
reclaimed surface until the vegetation is capable of supporting
grazing.
The premining land use patterns show on Nap 9, Energy Mine No.
3 Land Dae, will be restored following successful revegetation.
Pastureland constitutes the predominant land use category within the
• proposed permit area.
