• EXHIBIT C •
Topo blap-Affected Land (Red or Shaded)
The Topography Contour Nap shows the pit affected area (in red or shaded) access roads
and creek in relation to the contour of the area. Forest Service ground is the green
area. The heavy dark lines north of Corner B and Corner C is the property we have.
The affected land boundaries are also shown on Exhibit C (red or shaded area). We will
not use any more area than what is marked on Exhibit B and C, which shows location of
affected land. Exhibit C also shows the access County Road //639 and the access road to
the mine. Exhibit C adjacent land owners. The address of each adjacent land owners are
shown on this map. The quarter section corner, section line and other locatable points
are on this map also.
EXHIBIT D
Wildlife, Water Resources, Vegetation and Soils Information
A letter from Jack W. Warren, District Conservationist, who has addressed the protection
of surface water; protection of ground water; erosion and tailings control; and reclamat-
ion are included in the following topics.
Surface Water
The only evidence of directed surface flow is a natural draw on the west end of the
existing mine pit area. tJo evidence of live water is present. The draw runs water during
the summer rain storms and possibly during a brief period of snow melt. We will re-
construct a short length of the draw disturbed by the previous mining of the pit area
so that the natural flow will stay in the natural channel and not enter the pit area.
Look at photos Exhibit D surface water. '
There will be no processing, or waste dumping, etc. The location of the occassional
surface flow is not a potential hazard for the pollution of surface water.
Ground Water
There is no evidence of ground water either in the existing pit area of the proposed
underground mining area. As stated there will be no stone precessing or waste dumping
at the site so there will be no danger of undesirable elements entering the water table.
The water we use for the development, mining and dust control will be hauled fmm R4'
place in Nucla or C. {'J, Evnker~s place in Alorwood. Both of us owning fifty percent of
B-Alining Company. We project water requirements for mining and dust control will not
exceed 3~ gallon a day. The water used on the road x111 evaporate and the water used
in the mine will be in the muck so we x111 not discharge any water.
Dust will be controlled upon the site and access road by water and the commercial dust
abbetting agents Aagnesium Chloride and Calcium Chloride, Please look at Exhibit D-
Dust Control for more information on Magnesium Chloride.
The only batrroom facilities we will have the first two years will be a chemical ports
potty.
Vegetation and Soil Information
No topsoil exists on most of the pit area. Essentially no revegation can be accomplished
with out topsoil. Ar~p area where bare topsoil is exposed, including the roadbed, it
should be seeded in the late fall.
There is little vegetation in the mine pit area, Where topsoil exists these plants were
found: Look at Soil Conservation Service Reclamation attachment,
Erosion
The Soil Conservation Service found evidence of natural erosion over the site but
concluded the mine operation would not produce any additional erosion. Road maintenance
will preclude adverse erosion by the construction of standard water bars.
(2)
